Welcome to the sustainable travel section of our website, which is common to all three housebuilders comprising the Abbotswood Consortium; Taylor Wimpey, Bellway and Bovis Homes. A 'Community Travel Plan' for Abbotswood has been developed in conjunction with Cole Easdon Consultants Limited, and has been approved by both Hampshire County Council and Test Valley Borough Council. The Community Travel Plan is designed to provide further information regarding sustainable modes of transport, those which have a low impact on the environment. It applies not only to residents of the new houses at Abbotswood, but also the local centre businesses in the south eastern corner of Abbotswood. These web pages provide summary information regarding sustainable travel.

A primary aim of the Community Travel Plan, in line with government guidance, is to reduce the level of private car use, especially single car occupancy journeys, by encouraging the use of more sustainable forms of transport such as walking, cycling, public transport or car sharing.
